Antique French safe in modern mansion

Antique safe, built in 1825, by the well-known safe manufacturer Magaud de Charf in Marseille, France as an eye-catcher in a modern, luxurious villa.

The safe was probably brought to Algeria with the French legionnaires during the occupation (1830-1962). When the French later had to withdraw, the safe was used for decades in an oriental bath house, where it protected the valuables of the rich and important.

The Magaud de Charf has a high representative character and the gold-plated ornaments and the lion's head are 100% original. Another aspect is the beautiful hidden locking mechanism and the three finely crafted original keys. Finally, the safe still has its original gold manufacturer's plate 'Breveté - Magaud de Charf - MARSEILLE'.
