LSC 2006/106 Antique French Safe Back to Overview

This safe was built around 1865 by the prominent safe manufacturer August Nicolas Bauche de Reims.

It is believed that Bauche built it for a French baron from the Champagne region.  This safe is of high decorative value, everything from inside to out. The orange-red interior lacquer and the wood grain exterior is almost 100% original - only minimal reconditioning was needed.

Another aspect of this safe is a beautiful wooden Rosette on its supporting foundation. To top that, Bauche's highly decorative and original label of manufacture is still there as well.
